David Alaba may be considered one of the finest players in world football, but the Bayern Munich star had a shocker last night.
The versatile 23-year-old managed to score past his own goalkeeper while representing Austria.
Alaba’s side were 2-0 up against Malta with little time remaining on the clock when disaster struck.
The Bayern left-back, who plays in midfield for Austria, forgot to look at goalkeeper Ramazan Ozcan’s position and passed the ball back blindly.
Needless to say, the ball rolled painfully into his own net despite the keeper’s best efforts to keep it out.

The unfortunate incident was Malta’s only goal in their last six international matches.
Even more incredibly, Malta didn’t manage a single shot on target during the game but they still scored.
Austria have one more warm-up match before they kick-off against Hungary at Euro 2016.
Hopefully Alaba has got the own goals out of his system…
